2001-12-8 I'm so cheating today. I'm sick, sick, sick. So, here's my list of things I want to do before I die, a la Mo, Dorothy, et al. Michelle’s Missions 1. See an iceberg 2. See the aurora borealis 3. Kiss the blarney stone 4. Write a novel 5. Get a B.A. (in English so I can teach junior high school) 6. Get an M.A. 7. Get a Ph.D. 8. Attend a Rosemary Clooney concert in NYC. 9. Shake her hand 10. Learn sign language 11. Get a tattoo 12. Get married (I married Stephen in a lovely ceremony on November 1, 2003.) 13. Become fully Catholic (make first confession, communion, confirmation)-completed 4/14/01 14. Dye my hair purple 15. Get my nose pierced (hoop, not stud) 16. Spend the night in a “real” convent 17. Become a foster parent 18. Take an Alaskan Cruise 19. Buy an original Andrew Wyeth painting 20. If not one of his, then a Jamie Wyeth painting 21. Visit a real observatory; stargaze 22. Make a pilgrimage to Graceland 23. Attend a black-tie gala 24. Learn to crochet; make something.(4/29/02-still attemping this. I suck very badly) 25. Visit the Chicago Art Institute; see Seurat’s Grande Jatte in person 26. Tour a penitentiary (I did Alcatraz in 99, but I want to see a CURRENT one) 27. Purchase a brand new car (I am currently agonizing over buying a Hyundai this month-I bought an 01 Hyundai Accent in mid April! Go me!) 28. Visit Birkenau, Dachau, Auschwitz 29. Learn to ride a bike (Stephen taught me to ride my brand new bike in under an HOUR on 6/2/02. It only took me 20 years to learn!) 30. Fly a kite on the Outer Banks, North Carolina 31. Shop at a Lush store in Canada. (completed 6/4/01-Toronto-Yonge St.) 32. Own a dog 33. Experience a day of pampering at a spa 34. Take a trip on Amtrak-(completed April 8-11, 2001-Washington, DC) 35. Look for Nessie in Loch Ness 36. Take a photography course 37. Spend at least one day in Semur en Auxois in Bourgoune again. 38. Visit Middleham Castle in Leyburn, England. 39. Make a quilt 40. Learn to rollerblade 41. Tour the White House 42. Tour the FBI
43. Visit the gynocologist without the aid of tranquilizers (I will be able to do this in May, especially after my surgery this past June. Completed 4/22/02-soon to be its own entry) 44. Throw a coin in the Trevia fountain in Rome 45. Play the slots in Vegas (Stephen and I spent 4 days in LV in March 03. We won 80 bucks at the Venetian after seeing Lord of the Dance!) 46. Learn to drive a stick shift 47. Be a clinic escort at an abortion clinic 48. Live at least one year in a “big” city 49. Visit Anne Frank’s house 50. Take a hot air balloon ride
