2003-04-30 Here is what I did to help celebrate Melissa's (of Planning A Sky)birthday on 4/28! 1. I sent her email. Several, in fact. And a cheesy e-greeting. 2. I don't care much for oreos, but I did have a milkshake. 3. Um, I watered my plants. That's as close as I came to buying myself flowers. 4. I only have 1 stuffed animal. Well, two if you count the one in the "Awful Breakup Box." 5. I'm just not clever enough to rewrite a song. 6. I bought breakfast (granola bars, pop-tarts, fruit and juice) for a class of 4th graders. They began their state testing Monday and many of them never get breakfast. 7. Um, Highlander slash fanfiction. I can't help it; I'm a total sucker for Duncan/Methos action. 8. I read "If" to my nephew over the phone. He's having a really rough time at home right now. 9. I had yoga, so I couldn't watch/vote! wah! 10. One of the crime lab techs (and a dear friend of mine) and I sang "Cool Rider" WITH dance routine from Grease II in the hall at work! 11. Stephen and I split a piece of cake at dinner. We never order dessert out, so I had to tell him what the occasion was! Mmm...chocolate cake. 12. I busted out our recycling bin again. We are rededicating ourselves to this endeavor in our house. 13. I talk to my mom everyday. I told her Melissa told me to tell her I love her. She said, "Thanks. Who the hell is Melissa? Mel from DC? How is she? Or Stephen's sister, Melissa? Why would she tell you to call and say you love me? Is Stephen's mom alright? What's going on?" Jesus, my mom acts like she's on speed sometimes. 14. Stephen and I went to Newport on the Levee and walked around. It was a lovely day, with just a hint of a storm brewing off on the horizon. 15. I've mentioned Melissa a lot! Melissa! Melissa! Melissa rocks! 16. Um, I had Reece's in my milkshake (Blizzard). I am so DQ's bitch. 17. I'm making mix CD's...sloooowly. 18. Change given to: MS, MD and Leukemia charities. 19. No time for the car wash, but lord have mercy, Elliot (my little car) needs it. 20. We went to TGI Fridays. Initially, we went to celebrate my going to the Evil Below the Waist Doctor without the aid of Ativan. I told Stephen it was Melissa's birthday and we toasted to her! 21. Maybe tonight...it's free cone night at Baskin & Robbins! 22. No creativity...my job saps it right from me. Those bastards! Maybe this will be the impetus to kick my ass into writing again. Happy, happy birthday, Melissa!
